Oct. 17th, 2009 @ 01:56 am Long overdue

Well, this update is LONNGG overdue! There have been lots of things that have happened in Levi's life since the last time I updated!! He started the 4th grade this year! Levi has never been able to go to school for a full day, but this year he gets to stay an hour longer than usual! He doesnt come home til 2:00 now! His mother called me rejoicing the day he started because they werent sure they would have Levi this long, and he just turned 11!!! That's right! Eleven years old. What a miracle!

We are holding revival in Summerville, SC, this week, and guess what?! The Horton family came to visit us! They came night before last, and they left today right after lunch. We had SUCH a great time! It's always a joy to see them! It just wasn't long enough! Levi came and sang for our revival at the Summerville COG, and the congregation was blessed TREMENDOUSLY by Levi's ministry. Farris and Rachel are growing so much! They are just little princesses!

I want to share a story with you! Recently, Levi had been talking with his dad about a message that he (pastor Horton) was going to share with their congregation at Galax First Assembly. The message was going to be about the "Temple"-- Pastor Horton made the point that the temple sometimes may not look like much on the outside, but that on the INSIDE--that's where God's Glory abounds! The next day at school, Levi's class was having "quiet time" and while Levi had his head on his desk, he told us that he just began to pray! He said "I thought I was going to have to get up and run laps around the school!!" He said the Lord spoke to him in his spirit and said that God was getting ready to do something great! When he told his family, Levi's grandmother told Levi that maybe the Lord was getting ready to send his healing! Maybe Levi wasn't going to have to be blind anymore! Wouldn't that be a blessing? But Levi said...."Grandma, I wasn't even thinking about my healing. I was thinking about all the souls that were going to come to our temple and get saved!" What an example! What a testimony of true selflessness. I have to admit, when Josh shared this story with me, my eyes filled with tears. What a wise young man, to be more concerned with the Lost than himself. I think we could ALL learn a major lesson here! This young man just keeps on amazing me! He helps me see Christ more clearly. Ironic, huh?

May. 13th, 2009 @ 03:08 pm Revival in Galax, VA
Wow, it's been a long time!

We just returned this week from a 16 day outing! Our final stop was none other than Galax, VA to spend a week with our good friends at Galax 1st Assembly of God. We were so blessed to be in services with the Woodlawn PH Church on Sunday-Tuesday, and 1st Assembly Wednesday-Friday. Levi blessed our hearts over and over as he sang and led worship at both churches. He is learning news songs...."I'm Going Home With Jesus" for one...and he's singing so well! He is feeling very well, also. We are so thankful for God's touch on his life. Our last night in service there, while we were praying in the altars, I heard in my spirit over and over, It's Levi's night, It's Levi's night. I don't know what that meant, but I know Levi was touched that night in some way! He's just such an amazing little guy. I wish everyone in this country knew him!

Farris and Rachel amazed us how much they had grown! We posted pictures on the website. Don't forget to check them out! Those girls are so beautiful. The Hortons are a very blessed family!

Also, we got to meet another member of the family. Brittany, a cousin to the Horton kids, was in town from her school in Bristol. She took a lot of pictures while we were in town and we are so thankful! She also did a wonderful thing when she posted "Levi's Song" on YouTube!!! It's been up for 3 days and already 175 people have viewed it! Thanks so much, Brittany! If you'd like to view it, just go to www.youtube.com and search Levi's Song. There are also several videos of Levi singing himself at church. I know you'd be blessed to hear this. Search "Levi Horton" to watch.

Thankful for Him,

Ashley Franks

Feb. 26th, 2009 @ 02:26 pm Need Prayers
I spoke with Levi yesterday. Matter of fact I have talked to him several times this week. He has been under the weather. I can tell it doesn't take much to get his immune system down. I knew while he was talking that he wasn't feeling well. As we know this old crud is floating around and it looks like he got it and maybe a little bit of the flu. Also while you are praying keep his father, Pastor Horton, in prayer as well. He wasn't feeling so well himself. We are still believing that God has healed Levi's tumors. No matter what doctors reports tell us, we know the great Doctor! Doctor JESUS!
Thanks for your prayers!

Jan. 28th, 2009 @ 03:23 pm December/January Update
Current Mood: thankful

I know were are long overdue for an update. Sorry for not writing sooner. Truly Levi has been doing so well, there hasn't been a need for update. So that's a good thing! He is doing very well. The whole Horton Family came to visit with us a few days after christmas and stayed over into the new year. We had such a wonderful time. Levi and Josh even recorded a few songs and put it onto a CD with Josh's recording equipment. It's so neat and a lot of fun.

They had a wonderful Christmas, thanks to many of you who gave to them. Pastor Horton, Levi's dad, said it was one of the best Christmases they ever had. Praise unto God!

Keep on praying for Levi and the Horton Family. We believe God has healed his body. We are believing that one day he will see again on this side of heaven! God is still in the healing business!

God Bless!

Nov. 14th, 2008 @ 01:37 pm The Horton Family
Hey to all! Lots of great news on the Horton family this week!

This past weekend, we rode up to Galax 1st Assembly to be in service with them Saturday night, Sunday morning, and Sunday night. We had a blast with the Greenes Saturday night, and Sunday morning we pulled a big one over on the Horton family Sunday morning!

We decided to go ahead and give them the money that we have been raising all over the country--selling sunshades just like Levi's! We've also been sharing their story, Levi's struggles, and having people sign up to pray for the entire Horton Family! In all, we raised $2500 for their Christmas! They were so excited! I thought Marcia was going to drown in her tears! :) It was such an honor to be able to bless such a wonderful family. Money is just money--but those people who are praying will make the biggest difference!

Altogether there were between 250-300 names on that list! Praise God!

Levi is still in no pain, and he (and we) have claimed victory over his sickness. But!!! That doesn't mean we can stop praying!

Levi sang with me and Josh Sunday night on "We Shall Wear A Crown" and he brought the house down! When he took the mic, the spirit fell on that place and we felt a wonderful move of God! We are so thankful.

We had a GREAT time in Galax...and we can't wait to go back!!!

Much love!

I wanted to stop in and share a few things with you. I just couldn't wait to tell you. First of all Levi is still NOT been hurting. PRAISE GOD! Also I spoke with Levi's dad the other day and he had informed me that Levi had took his name off the Prayer List at church and put it on the Praise Report! Child-like faith! If we all believed like children look at what GOD could do! God is still working but don't stop praying! More to come soon!

Oct. 6th, 2008 @ 09:59 am Levi and Grandma Vera
Current Mood: grateful
Levi's Grandma Vera called Josh and I the other day. She said that she had all the Horton kids at her house and Levi wanted to talk to us!

He said that he STILL has not had an ounce of pain since Mr. Aaron Crabb prayed with him at his church almost 2 months ago! PRAISE GOD! I told Grandma Vera that they need to get that boy back to the doctor and have him another MRI, because they aren't going to find ANYTHING in Levi's body! I believe that he's been healed. There are so many people praying and Heaven is paying attention!!!!!!! We could not be more thankful to all of you who have joined us in prayer for Levi and the whole Horton family! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

She also sent Josh and I a CD of Levi's singing/preaching. What a joy!!

The story of Levi and the Horton family is still touching many people in our services all over! If you would like to send them a card or letter, I know their day would be brightened!!! The address is on the first update of this journal and on our website.

Love to you all!

Sep. 16th, 2008 @ 03:18 pm Praise Report
Current Mood: thankful

Hello Everyone, Before I share the praise report, I wanted to tell you first we have been trying to update but the computer has been acting up and not letting us here to update, so now that we are here, let me share with you. We had a honor of being with the Horton Family Labor Day weekend in Galtinburg, TN. Everyone seemed to be doing well. We had such a wonderful time with them.  I spoke with Pastor Horton yesterday over the phone and God is moving friends! In the middle of August, Aaron & Amanda Crabb were in Revival at Galax First Assembly were Bro. Horton is pastor. The last night of the revival, Aaron and Amanda prayed over Levi. From reports, the power of God was so strong that when Aaron touched Levi, he leaped up. After that night, Levi told his mother, that he didn't do that on purpose, that it was like electric power that hit him. Since that time, Levi has not been hurting AT ALL!!!

Levi was at his grandmothers house a few days ago and Levi told his grandmother that he knows God IS healing him! We are still standing with Levi and believing that God is doing just that. Please keep on praying for him. God still answers prayers and I believe his is doing right now!

About this Entry
Aug. 25th, 2008 @ 01:46 pm NEW UPDATE

I got some more info on Levi today--

The doctor says that somehow, cells from Levi's tumor have broken off, and moved into his spine. They are calling the places nodules, but they are really like little tumors in his back. There are a lot of those tumors there, and surgery is not an option.

They CAN do chemotherapy to try and stop it, but we aren't sure what Levi is going to be doing at this point in time.

I would like to ask you to REALLY pray for Levi Horton, RIGHT NOW.
It is our job to lift up our brother in prayer, and the bible says that "the prayer of faith shall save the sick..." (james 5:15)

Keep praying for a miracle!

Aug. 21st, 2008 @ 12:25 am PRAY!
Hey all...

Just wanted to let you know that I talked with Levi's mom today. She said that they are going to the doctor at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon (8/21), so everyone please remember to pray at that time! The doctors are saying that at this time, they are more concerned about the nodules, than even his brain tumor. Tomorrow they are going to go over the MRI scan and Cas and Marcia are actually going to get to look at the pictures of Levi's back.

I have claimed victory over Levi's tumor AND those nodules on his spine! Please join with me and let's touch heaven for this little child!

Aug. 6th, 2008 @ 03:48 pm Update on Levi-- 8/6/08
Current Mood: hopeful

Josh and I received an update from Pastor Horton (Levi's Dad) this morning. Levi had an MRI last week. The results were that Levi's tumor had grown 1 centimeter on one side, and 3/4 centimeter the other way.

Also, they found nodules and a frosting on Levi's spine. He had been having some back pain, and that is why.

We will know more in a couple of weeks! Until then, keep praying for healing! We believe GOD!

Love you all!
Ashley
